Mission

Our purpose is to serve the citizens of Dale County with the highest possible level of professionalism, experience, and compassion.

 

Responsibilities

  • To coordinate with law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in the determining the cause and manner of death
  • To assist families with information regarding autopsy and toxicology results
  • To sign death certificates and forward them on to Dale County Health Department
  • To collect Dale County death statistics, including motor vehicle crashes (MVCs), overdoses (ODs), suicides, and homicides
  • Educational speaking for our youth regarding drugs and alcohol, drinking and driving, and other unsafe driving and lifestyle habits
